Where to hang crib mobile? 

Measure from the top of the mattress to the lowest hanging element of the mobile. The distance between the lowest hanging element and the mattress should be between 12-16 inches. This distance ensures the mobile is within the newborn's optimal visual focal distance. Hanging the mobile too high could make it hard for the baby to track, hanging the mobile too low causes a safety risk if the baby is able to reach any part of the mobile.

The mobile should be centered with the crib, not directly over the babies head (to not cause eye strain)

Once the baby is able to sit or stand, raise the mobile higher out of reach or remove it.
